I am so pleased with the work you have done for me, it is much more than I ever thought I would be able to find. Mary from Australia searching Stafford ancestors from Roscommon
You have done such a wonderful job. I truly didn’t expect such a great detailed report. I was really, really stuck with my research and just couldn’t get any further, I had come to a dead stop and it was so frustrating. You have not only got over that huge hill, but have gone on much further with such amazing results. I can’t just thank you enough and would most certainly recommend you to anyone wanting to research their family history, you are most very welcome to add any comments I have made to your website. Hi Peter
I wanted to take a few minutes to thank you. The work that you did for me led me to the discoveries I made in Galway. The lead on the cemetery led me to my Great Grandmother's grave

Hi Peter
I would like to commend you on the excellent work and effort you've put into this. We as a family are over the moon to find out that some of these rumours have been verified after all these years and to see all the information tied up. WELL worth the fee to have this completed by yourself and more than happy to put any other business your way in the future! My trip to Tipperary in less than two weeks really cannot come quick enough

Welcome to the Irish Family Ancestry website. This is a genuine, Ireland based service, providing personal and professional Irish genealogy research, record retrieval and ancestry advice to families wishing to explore their Irish heritage. So what can we do?
Irish Genealogy
Irish Genealogy and Irish Ancestry both refer to the study of families and their lineage or pedigrees, resulting in a narrative or chart of a family tree. This can be done through the collection of family history from family and relatives and researching relevant historical records. The professional genealogist can enhance and shorten this process for you delivering a guaranteed and certified product. See a sample of a Standard Ancestry Report here
Irish Records
Perhaps you are just starting your search or maybe wish to conduct most of the research on your own but need some assistance with retrieving copies or records and documents. We can provide simple transcripts or photocopies of all Irish records such as Birth, Marriage and Death certificates, Church and Land records.See the list of records we can provide on the Services page. In addition you may wish to determine or explore the origin of your name.
Irish Surnames
There are many sources offering a ‘meaning’ for Irish surnames. Some do offer details from reputable sources but they can often be generic and of indeterminable relevance for a particular surname. Any meaningful reference to an Irish name can only be made with additional family detail, such as the ancestor’s place of origin. We review and interpret current standard Surname texts, consult additional local information and check other texts and manuscripts such as Irish Annals for further history. Please see a sample of a Surname Report here
Irish Family History
A distinction can be made between the pursuit of Irish genealogy as described above and Family History. Family history includes the search for additional details about the lives of ancestors in an historical context, such as the meanings and origins of Irish surnames, occupations, the topography and local history of the area where ancestors originated from, what it was like to live in Ireland in the 19th or 18th centuries and so on. It is like putting additional foliage on the branches of a Family Tree. The pursuit of family history is born from a desire to carve out a place for a family in the larger historical picture. It is accepting responsibility to preserve one’s past for those who will follow in the future and, it is the self-satisfaction in accurate story telling. Some families just wish to know more than is provided in an Ancestry Rport and this can met in a Family History Report which will become an heirloom for future generations. See Sample Report here.
Ancestry Search
Maybe you have already started your Irish Genealogy research. With improving on-line services it has become a popular pastime and hobby. Searching in Ireland can be a little more difficult. Not so many documents are available on-line, their location is fragmented across several depositories and because so many records were lost or destroyed, we have to rely on what we call 'substitute' records. Based in Irelandand and having experience of searching these resources, we can conduct any part of your research for you. Alternatively if you just need some advice, we can provide that too.
Why don’t you start that project you always wanted to – right now? Complete the Assessment Form here.
The abstract Tree of Life symbol or “crann bethadh” in our logo is a universal symbol used in many traditions and cultures, including that of the Celts and early Christians. The symbol represents many things including humans -as we develop roots, strengthen our trunk and branch out to a wider vision of life as we grow. For many it was also a symbol of a connectedness with the otherworld, their forefathers, an emblem of their ancestry and heritage.
